ASEAN+Three Expert Meeting on Open Access Database (OADB), Tokyo, 26 February 2007 (uploaded on 19/02/2007) As a follow up to the initiative of Japan to establish of an Open Access Database (OADB) which may serve as a platform to promote cooperation in science and technology among ASEAN Member Countries and the Plus Three countries (China, Japan and ROK) put forward at the ASEAN+Three Informal Ministerial Meeting held in Kuantan, Malaysia, on 28 August 2006, the Cabinet Office of Japan will organise the ASEAN+Three Expert Meeting on Open Access Database (OADB), Tokyo, 26 February 2007. The event will be attended by Database Experts from the ASEAN and the Plus Three Countries. The experts from Australia, India and New Zealand have also been invited to participate. The main purpose of the OABD is to support international cooperation in S&T through joint research and also exchange of human resources, especially young researchers from industry, academic and government sector. At the Meeting, participants will share the OADB overview, S&T database management in each country and also OADB Integrated Retrieval Interface. The Meeting will also discus the implementation details on how to operationalise the OADB initiative.
