The ASEAN Sub-Committee on S&T Infrastructure and Resources Development (SCIRD) is currently implementing the project on the ASEAN’s Experience on S&T Governance: Regulatory Framework of Incentives for Scientists and Scientific Organizations. The main objective of the project, supported by the ASEAN-Japan General Exchange (JAGEF Fund), is to build the capacity of Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar to develop effective regulatory framework on incentives for scientists and relevant organizations.

To initiate the implementation of the project, an Inception Meeting will be held on 28-29 June 2007 in Vientiane. Participated by the project focal points from Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar, ASEAN and Japanese Experts, SCIRD Chairman and the ASEAN Secretariat, the Meeting will discuss the detailed implementation plan and also administrative and financial arrangements under the project.
