Senior Science and Technology (S&T) officials of the ASEAN Member Countries and Plus Three Countries (China, Japan and ROK) will meet at the 2nd Meeting of COST Plus Three in Tokyo on 5 October 2007. The Meeting will review the current cooperation activities and also exchange views on the initiatives to be put forward by ASEAN and the Plus Three Countries. The Meeting will concurrently be held with the Asian Science and Technology Forum, on 5-9 October 2007 which will be participated by some ASEAN countries.

It is expected that the holding of the Meeting will expedite the implementations of various pending projects. At the same time, several new initiatives of cooperation will be put forward by ASEAN and the Plus Three Countries in areas such as technology transfer, bioinformatics and remote sensing technology.
