The Children Science Congress of India has been held consecutively for 15 years. This year, the 15th National Children’s Science Congress 2007 will be held on 27-31 December 2007 at Vidya Paratishthan, Baramati, India. For the first time, the Government of India is inviting ASEAN young scientists, students and teachers to participate in the 2007 Congress with support from the ASEAN-India Cooperation fund (AICF).

The focal theme of the 2007 Congress is “Biodiversity – Nurture Nature for Our Future”. Around 600 child scientists along with escort teachers, resource persons, district and state coordinators, network members and volunteers will take part in the 5-day activities organized by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology with the local hosts, Jidnyasa Trust Thane and Vidya Prathishthan.

Participation of ASEAN countries will provide the opportunities for ASEAN and Indian students and teachers to share ideas and experience of science education, science communication activities and scientific awareness programs. Also, it would help in spreading the concept of NCSC to ASEAN Member Countries.
